Footman James Manchester Classic Car show

My P250S made an appearance on the Lamborghini Owners Club UK stand in September at the Footman James Manchester Classic Car show. It looked great on!

Lamborghini UK gathering at the Silverstone classic with Valentino Balboni

Had a great time with the car sunbathing amongst the largest UK gathering of Lamborghini's - ever ?!

Valentino Balboni, former chief test driver of Lamborghini also attended and was available for a chat! More details on the classic here: http://www.silverstoneclassic.com/page.cfm/action=press/libID=1/libEntryID=72/listID=3

Urraco steering rod ends the same as VW T2 transporter

Fettling for the weekend and potential trip down to Silverstone race circuit for a Lamborghini UK owners club parade and found that one of the steering tie rods was worn out and probably the source of a clank at slow speeds on lock.

Turns out the tie rod end is the same as 70's VW T2 bay window and I had one in stock from my other life  and they are cheap. Also took delivery of some proper oil for the car from www.superformance.co.uk

Original Carello driving lamps fitted

Scored some original Carello driving lamps (£20! off ebay), cleaned them up and fitted them tonight. Just need to covers now - anyone have a pair going spare ?

Nice eh ? There is a cut out in the front grill so that the lamps sit perfectly in the front end.

Rear seat belts in a Lamborghini Urraco

Thought about it, measured up and worked out where to fit rear seat belts (lap belts) on the Urraco. Drilled a whole through the side of the center tunnel (first one was too high) which is used for the buckle end with a plate on the rear in the tunnel.

Outer part of the belt with the tongue bolted through the rear floor at the corners again with a plate on the back.

The belt pulls up between the seat base and side panels and the buckles pop through a gap between the center pad and rear trim. Feels that much safer for the kids now.

I used standard Securon 210 real static lap belts.

Lamborghini Urraco rear floor rust proofing

Decided to tackle the ugly (but solid) rear floor area. As you may know it has the at factory sound deadening material and then insulation on it. The original tar material has lifted around its edges so it needed to come off. It's hard and brittle so chipped off quite easily.

The floor is solid with a little surface rust from moisture where the tar was not. Cleaned up now and painted with rust converter paint then waxed around the seams. Also waxed inside the chassis floor cross box section that separates front floor from rear. The car will never see rain or damp again so that's how it will be now forever - next job is the other side then the front floor areas.

OEM style door mirrors for the Lamborghini Urraco

The car only had one door mirror when I bought it and I really needed one on both sides for maneuvering in my garage and generally visibility given the large louver system engine cover at the rear reduced rear view field.

I found these mirror on ebay from a seller in Taiwan http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170994521699 and have to say that for the price (less than £20 for the pair! + shipping) are really good value for money and look correct on the car. Shipping was quick and secure - thanks "cubepai"
